The Process // What to Expect
STEP 1: REACH OUT
Let’s connect! Reach out or request a quote, I will review your inquiry and follow up with any additional questions.
STEP 2: QUOTE & 50% RETAINER DUE TO BOOK
You’ll receive a formal quote with all the details – be sure to read it carefully and in full. You can request changes to the quote or accept it as is. Once your quote is accepted, a 50% non-refundable retainer invoice will be sent to your email. Once the retainer is paid, I’ll be in touch to talk about wording, collect the official details for the inserts and the design process will begin. How exciting!
STEP 3: DESIGN & PROOFING
You will receive a digital mock-up via a watermarked PDF for you to review and approve or make changes to – pricing includes 3-4 revisions of your design [ so be sure to have everything together at once when you send us your edits ]. Further details regarding the process, any further revisions and the timeline for your order are outlined in your quote.
Due to the nature of our what I do, no returns, exchanges or refunds on customized orders. The proofing process is VERY important, please pay close attention when reviewing your order and design for any errors. Please note that if reprints are needed after your proof is approved and your order is printed, the client is responsible for reprint costs. [ Again, the proofing process is extremely important!! ]
STEP 4: APPROVAL & FINAL PAYMENT
Once your design proof is approved, your final 50% payment is due. After payment is received, your order will move into print production and no further changes can be made.
+ The proofing process is VERY important, please pay close attention when reviewing your order and design for any errors. Please note that if reprints are needed after your proof is approved and your order is printed, the client is responsible for reprint costs. [ Again, the proofing process is extremely important!! ]
STEP 5: PRODUCTION & SHIPPING
After printing, I will assemble [ if that’s part of our agreement ] and ship your order.
If you book assembly service, postage is automatically added to your order. You will see this as a line item on your quote. If you choose to assemble, you are in charge of your own postage and assembly as well as the materials needed to assemble.
When to reach out for what...
I know not everyone plans a wedding a year in advance, below is a general outline and timeline to help you in your planning process. Please don’t wait – reach out as soon as you can to get on my calendar. [ If you do find yourself in a time crunch, I do offer rush services for additional fees and I’m happy to help when my schedule allows! ]
7-12 MONTHS BEFORE
Begin Save
the Dates
Mail these out 6-8 months before your wedding – sooner for destination weddings.
Allow 3-4 weeks for design, proofing & print production for digital printing or 4-6 weeks for other print methods.
Full envelope addressing is included in my save the date pricing. However, if you choose to order blank envelopes instead, be sure to allow yourself enough time to address them on your own.
6-8 MONTHS BEFORE
Start Your Invitations
Mail these out 6-8 weeks before your wedding – sooner for destination weddings or if you have a lot of guests traveling from out of town.
Allow 5-7 weeks for design, proofing & print production for digital printing. Allow 7-9 weeks for design, proofing & print production for other print methods.
Full envelope addressing is included in my invitation pricing. However, if you choose to order blank envelopes instead, be sure to allow yourself enough time to address them on your own.
0-12 MONTHS BEFORE
Thank You Cards
Order these when you order your invitations or your day-of wedding pretties so you can write thank you notes as gifts start rolling in – trust me, you don’t want to wait or procrastinate on these.
2-3 MONTHS BEFORE
DAY-OF GOODS
This includes seating charts, welcome signs, place cards, programs, menus, table numbers, frosted cups, koozies, napkins, etc.
Please reach out in advance so we can get these on my calendar early!
